CRC Upcoming Events/Projects — Updated May 7, 2017
CRC’s Ring Around the Roses 5K Run/Walk: Whetstone Park of Roses, Monday, May 29, 7-11 a.m. — Help set up, help with registration, help on the race course, help with Kids Run, help at the finish line or with awards.
CRC’s Third Thursdays: May 18, June 15, July 20, Aug. 17 and Sept. 21 in the CRC’s parking lot at 3222 N. High St. Help set up (3-5 p.m.), sell tickets (5-9 p.m.), serve beer (5-9 p.m.) and clean up (9-10 p.m.) at the CRC’s live music/food truck event.
Immediate Volunteer Needs
CRC Vehicle cleaning: clean and wash CRC buses and vans — this can be a great group effort!
Food Donation Pickup: pickup food donations from Lucky’s Market on Thursdays at 10 a.m., must be able to lift 40 pounds, pickups in CRC vehicle with CRC staff member, can commit to once a month or more.
Food Donation Pickup: pickup food donations from Target on Sawmill Road on Wednesdays and/or Fridays at 10 a.m. and deliver to our food pantry, must be able to lift 40 pounds and have large vehicle, can commit to once a month or more.
Food Pantry – Traffic Supervision: 14 W. Lakeview Ave., Wednesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m., direct vehicles arriving for produce pickup and keep the traffic flowing on Lakeview Ave. and around building.
Senior Client & Kinship Needs: light house cleaning.
Senior Medical Driver: week day schedule varies, must have car, pick up client and take home from medical appointments, volunteer can commit as much or little as schedule allows.
Lakeview Food Pantry: 14 W. Lakeview, Tuesdays, 6-7 p.m., help unload fresh produce from the Mid-Ohio Food Bank truck.
Lakeview Food Pantry: 14 W. Lakeview, Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., help divide produce in portions for pick up.
Lakeview Food Pantry: 14 W. Lakeview, Wednesdays, 4-6 p.m., help distribute fresh produce.
Lakeview Food Pantry: 14 W. Lakeview, Thursdays, Noon – 5 p.m., help process food donations.
Lakeview Food Pantry: 14 W. Lakeview, Fridays, 9-11 a.m., help unload canned good delivery and stock shelves.
Gethsemane Food Pantry: Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 35 E. Stanton Ave, Wednesdays, 5:30-8 p.m., help clients shop for food and distribute food.
Seniors Breakfast Club: Second Thursday of every month, help set up, serve and clean up at the monthly senior potluck and fellowship event.
Senior Downsizing: Help seniors get ready to move, organize and sort through belongings.
Senior Friendly Visits: Go to neighborhood senior homes and spend time getting to know them, chatting, socializing and brighten their daily routine.
Senior Grocery Outings: Assist seniors shopping and checking out during the group grocery trips.
Senior Home Repair: Help seniors with everyday home repair work, such as painting, drain cleaning, install screen windows, and install handrails, household chores and other home maintenance.
Senior Lawn Mowing: Sign up to mow a senior’s lawn, must have lawn mower and be able to transport.
Senior Tech Help: Help seniors with computer issues, setting up programs and trouble shooting.
