Get Help

1) Are you over 60 or know someone who is?

If you are 60 years of age or older or know someone who is-we are here to help.  We offer Supportive Services in your home to help you meet your needs.  Our Senior Outreach Workers are trained professionals who have education and experience working with Seniors.  They can help with benefits, health insurance and Medicare issues, helping you get to and from your doctor appointments, minor home repairs, getting you to the grocery store on weekly senior group trips, social outings, etc.  Our staff will come to your home and meet with you to help you identify any needs you have.  If there is something you need that we don’t do we will help you find a resource in the community.  Please call us to schedule an appointment for someone to visit you.  You can have a family member or friend call if you like.

2) Are you looking for ways to pay the bills and put food on the table?

If you and your family are looking for someone to help you find resources in the community to get through day to day-call us or come on down.  We have a Choice Food Pantry so that you and your family can choose the things that you like to eat.  We have healthy choices, fresh fruits and vegetables, and kid-friendly snacks.  We also carry frozen and refrigerated items.  You can visit our Pantry once a month and will get food for 7 days.  In addition to providing you food, we can help you find resources for housing, employment and utility assistance.  We are a Benefit Bank site and can help you sign up for food stamps and other benefits you may be eligible for.  Feel free to call us or come down in person.  We are here to help!  To access the Food Pantry bring your most recent utility bill or other proof of address.  Our Pantry serves zip code 43214 and 43202 north of Hudson.

3) Are you looking for a safe place for your child to go after school or during the summer?

If you are worried about where you can send your child after school during your working hours give us a call.  We have an after school program from 3:30-6:00pm, Monday-Friday during all Columbus City School days.  We have room for 60 kids during each session.  The Kids Club program is housed at the Clinton Heights Lutheran Church, directly across the street from Clinton Elementary School.  Children in grades K-5 can attend and don’t have to attend Clinton Elementary.  Some children are bussed to Clinton Elementary after school so they can attend with their siblings.  During the summer the Kids Club program operates from 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday.  There is a $100 application fee for the program per family for the school year and a $100 application fee per family for the summer program.  There are no additional fees.  Give us a call and we can arrange a time for you to come and visit.

4) Are you raising your grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters, or other related children?

If you are the primary caregiver for a child that related to you but the parents are absent please call us.  We have a trained professional Social Worker who can come to your house to help identify needs and find resources to meet those needs.  We can help in many areas such as: transportation, utilities, housing, health/mental health, employment/job training, education, child care, legal issues, financial issues, food security, clothing and community supports.  Our Social Worker will connect you to the necessary resources in the community.

5) Are you looking for assistance to get through the holidays?

Many families tell us that the holidays create additional financial obstacles for them.  At CRC we have donors in the community who want to help.  They donate clothes, toys and other holiday items to share with families.  Some of our families are “sponsored” every year (last year over 100).  Sponsored families get to make a “wish list” with items they and their children need.  The list is matched with a donor who purchases some of the items and brings them to CRC.  The family and the sponsor do not know each other and we keep identities confidential.  We also have programs to provide gifts for seniors and adults without children.  Additionally we are able to provide additional food items during the holidays.  Call us or come on in to talk about these options.
