CRC and farmers market partner to serve seniors in community

One of the more unique partnerships that benefit seniors who are served by the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center is its To Market To Market program.

The CRC and the Clintonville Farmers Market folks work together to bring local seniors the  program. Thanks to this partnership, and the support of OhioHealth, Buckeye Health Plan and Proforma Buckeye, low-income seniors are given vouchers that they can use to shop at Clintonville’s Farmers Market.

The popular program, which has grown in each of its first four years, is a model for other communities who wish to help seniors get access to fresh produce and also provide another option to combat the issues of isolation which can make “aging in place” so difficult for some older residents.

“It’s become a cornerstone of the market,” wrote CFM Director Michelle White in an email, “and I always look forward to the first Saturday the CRC van rolls up.”

The CRC continues to seek donations to bring this program to additional seniors in the community, hoping to serve more than 100 qualified seniors if the funding can be found.

For more information, visit the market’s website by clicking here or email the CRC at if you’re interested in making a donation.
